Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has given his glimpse to Parliamentarians from South Punjab the next day after 8 Parliamentarians left the party to make a new province .
He chaired a meeting of Assembly Members of Khanewal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Layyah and other districts, here today.
The Chief Minister while addressing the meeting said that Pakistan Muslim League-N has presented two resolutions in Punjab Assembly for the restoration of defunct province of Bahawalpur as well as southern Punjab.
He said the credit for presenting resolutions regarding restoration of Bahawalpur and southern Punjab as provinces goes to PML-N. He considered those who helped him for development of southern Punjab as benefactors.
He said that during PML-N’s tenure, unprecedented development was made in the rural and urban areas of southern Punjab. He said that development budget of southern Punjab was increased every year and it was given more funds as compared to its population during last five years.
He said that from 2008 to 2013, 27.5 percent of the development budget was given to southern Punjab by PML-N government and during last five years, PML-N government has given more than 37 percent development budget to the southern Punjab. He said that ten percent quota has been fixed for southern Punjab in Apna Rozgar and every scheme of Punjab government.
He said that scholarship amount has been increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000 for girl students of public sector schools of southern Punjab. He said that avoiding the policy of collision and agitation is essential in larger national interest of the country.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Muhammad Baligh ul Rehman, Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju, Senator Saud Majeed, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, Provincial Ministers Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Member National Assembly Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman Dareskh, Aslam Bodla, Ifitikhar Nazir, Sardar Asif Hussain Mazari, Sahibzada Faiz ul Hassan, Syed Muhammad Saqlain Shah Bukhari, Mian Najeeb ud Din Awais, Member Punjab Assembly Mian Kazim Ali Pirzada, Aamir Hayat Hiraj, Ch. Karamdad Wahlah, Irfan Khan Daha and PML-N leader Ahmed Ali Aulakh.
