Lahore : The British Home Secretary Ms. Amber Rudd called on Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in London today. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations between the two countries came under discussion.
British Home Secretary said that Pakistan has played a commendable role in war against terrorism. She said that due to the hard work of Chief Minister and his team, improved results have been achieved in health and education sectors and reforms program of Punjab government, under the supervision of Shehbaz Sharif, is meeting wonderful successes.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan-UK relations are based on solid foundations and added that UK’s cooperation in health and education is commendable.
He said that collective efforts of Punjab government and DFID have bear fruit to achieve the targets of education sector reforms program in the Punjab. He said that Pakistan army, police and other agencies have rendered invaluable services for the elimination of terrorism in Pakistan.
He pointed out that efforts of Counter Terrorism Department in major cities of the province are also giving positive results. Due to the establishment of Safe City Authority in Lahore and other cities, the ratio of terrorism and other crimes has been sufficiently decreased, concluded the Chief Minister.
