Lahore : A meeting of Cabinet Committee on Law and Order held here today under Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in which the Inspector General Police (IGP) gave a briefing on the developments on the callous rape and murder case of the minor girl in Kasur.
Addressing the meeting, CM Shahbaz Sharif directed that the heartless murderer and rape accused of the minor girl should be arrested immediately, no excuses will be accepted and the arrest of the accused be ensured without wastage of time.
He said facts should be brought to the public after the arrest of the accused so that the victim family gets justice. He said extreme brutality was inflicted on the minor girl and heartless accused will have to pay for it.
He said the killer could not escape justice and will get exemplary punishment. He said all requirements of the justice will be fulfilled in the deaths of two persons in the firing incident and the accused will be punished. He said he will personally monitor the progress on both cases.
He directed the IGP to visit Kasur daily to review the progress on both cases and for this purpose IGP can use the helicopter of the chief minister.
Directing the DG Punjab Forensic Laboratory and the additional secretary Home Department to immediately leave for Kasur, he said both officers will discharge affairs of their concerning departments in connection with both cases.
He said he was under extreme agony and stress due to this case and he only wants the arrest of the accused.
Provincial ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, lieutenant colonel (retired) Ayub Ghadi and Khawaja Imran Nazir, spokesperson for Punjab government Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, chief secretary, Inspector General Police and concerning officials attended the meeting in Lahore, while the head of the Joint Investigation Team RPO Multan, RPO Sheikhupura and DPO Kasur attended the meeting through video link.
