Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has transferred DPO Kasur Sarfraz Ahmad and made him OSD.
The CM also constituted a Joint Investigation Team under Abu Bakar Khuda Buksh Addl IG Investigations and directed him to submit report within 24 hours.
In the wake of an unfortunate incident in Kasur, where a minor was raped and murdered, Government of Punjab too swift actions under the supervision of the Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif.
The Chief Minister has constituted the Joint Investigation Team under Additional IG Abubakar Khuda Bakhsh to submit report within 24 hours. JIT includes officials from ISI & IB as well. The JIT will report on daily basis on this case.

DPO Kasur has been removed from his post for his inability to handle the case.
Around 100 people have been narrowed down to conduct forensic/DNA testing.
As a response to the tragedy, people took to the streets in Kasur and some of the protesters attacked the DC Kasur office. In handling the protesters, four policemen started firing into the crowd.
However after a swift action, all 4 accused policemen who opened fired on protesters in Kasur have been arrested. Investigation is underway. Apart from these policemen, 2 accused from civil defence who allegedly also resorted to firing at protesters in Kasur have been arrested.
Shahbaz Sharif also showed strong displeasure over the incident of firing at protesters without any order or permission of some high government official and issued explicit directions that strong legal action be initiated against the police officials responsible for firing.
