Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif arranged a special charismas function for the Christian community at Model Town.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced to pass minority rights commission bill from the assembly and said that law minister shall take necessary steps to pass the bill from the assembly after consultations.
He also announced a remission of three months in the sentences of Christian prisoners and said that Christian prisoners will be provided this remission as like prisoners are granted it on the occasion of Eid.
He said that solution of problems of Youhanabad and Joseph Colony will be pondered over. He said that five percent employment-quota has been reserved for minorities and due to its implementation; the children of minority communities are getting good jobs in public sector departments.
He said that birth anniversary of Hazrat Isa (A.S) is celebrated in Pakistan with zeal and fervor. Unluckily, a tragic incident of terrorism occurred in Quetta few days ago where Christian brethren were killed mercilessly. The elements doing it are an enemy of the humanity and they will not find any place to hide anywhere in Pakistan. These savage animals will be arrested and they will get severe punishment.
The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the people, Punjab government and the PML-N and said that we fully share the grief of the bereaved families. May Almighty Allah give strength and courage to the Christian community.
He said Hazrat Isa (A.S) has been mentioned in Holy Quran with detail. One lakh and 24 thousand Prophets had been sent to different parts of the world to guide the humanity. The birthday of Hazrat Isa (A.S) and Quaid-e-Azam is the same and it is the message of the Quaid-e-Azam that all have equal rights under the constitution of Pakistan.
He said that he studied in a Christian school where Madam Paul taught us math and English. It is sanguine that the Christian community has played an important role in national development and all people have equal rights. He said that Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) granted protection to minorities on the occasion of Misaaq-e-Madina and there is no other example like that. Pakistan belongs to all and let’s makes this country a heaven of peace where tolerance and brotherhood prevails.
The protection of rights of minorities is the supremacy of the constitution and let’s all lives in peace and make Pakistan the great country.
He congratulated the Christian community of the festival of Christmas and also cut the Christmas Cake along with the Christian community.
