Justice should be equal for all : Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Orange Line Metro Train is an honorable mean of transport for the masses and Tehreek-e-Insaaf has showed its enmity with the people of Lahore by delaying this project. PTI attacked the Orange Line Metro Train Project like a domestic enemy and due to this political party, a delay of 22 months has occurred.

The Lahore Orange Line Metro Train was scheduled to start its service on December 25 and three lakh people were scheduled to travel on this train from Dera Gujran to Ali Pur daily but the PTI showed its naked enmity with the poor people and also showed animosity with the people of Lahore. Imran Niazi has wasted precious time of the nation as well as wasting time of the people of Peshawar and the KPK as well. Imran Niazi had spoken full throat that he will not launch Metro Bus nor will take funds from the federation but after more than four years he has been establishing metro through a loan from Asian Bank. Khan Sahib termed metro bus of Lahore and a Janga Bus.

We developed metro bus projects in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi from our resources, while Imran Niazi is thinking of setting up metro bus project through the loan. I pray that metro bus project should be set up soon there for the people of Peshawar.

He expressed these views while talking to the media after meeting at engineering university site office. He said that lawyers of Tehreek-e-Insaaf went to High Court and Supreme Court and office bearer of this party Waleed Iqbal filed a petition in the Supreme Court and then withdrew it. He said that Imran Niazi failed to set up metro bus project in his province during the last more than four years and now if he could do so in a period of six months, then it would be a big thing. If the conscious people of KPK would give an opportunity to the PML-N to serve them in the next elections, then we will ensure early completion of metro bus project there and will also disclose the lies of Imran Niazi before the people.

He said that he has been personally supervising the progress on this project and every effort will be made for its early completion. Day and night work is being carried out on this project so as to complete it as soon as possible. He said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute project will be inaugurated soon and this would be the most modern project in all of South Asia.

Replying to a question, he said that justice should be equal for all and sundry.

Earlier, a high-level meeting was held at the site office of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train near the UET here today to review progress of the project.

The Chief Minister was given a briefing about the progress on civil, electrical and mechanical works.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project is a gift of China to the people of Pakistan, adding that it is for the whole of Pakistan. This project is an important achievement towards bridging divide between the poor and the rich. Thorough this metro train, ordinary people will travel in an honorable way.

The Chief Minister lamented that some of the political elements have shown enmity with the people by creating hurdles and added that these are those people who have been unable to fix even a brick of metro bus project in their province. These people have shown cruelty toward the welfare of the people.

He vowed that the delay of 22 months will be covered through hard work and added that if the political opponents have not created hurdles, the metro train would have started functioning from December 25.

He said that construction work will be moved further in the light of the directions of the Supreme Court and added that these directions will be followed in letter and spirit.
