Khawaja Salman Rafiq gives a cheque to comedian Javed Kodoo

Lahore : Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Punjab, Khawaja Salman Rafiq has said that there is a need to create an endowment fund to help the needy artists, in which government as well as well off artists and philanthropists should contribute.

He stated this while talking to media persons after handing over a cheque of Rupees five lakh on behalf of the Chief Minister Punjab to the comedian and stage artist Javed Kodoo in his office, here today.

Kh. Salman Rafiq said that artists are the precious asset of our society who always forget their personal problems and make the people happy.

On this occasion, Javed Kodoo thanked the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for providing financial assistance. Javed Kodoo also thanked the Minister Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq for taking personal interest to provide financial assistance to him.

He said that Kh. Salman Rafiq extended great help to him while he (Javed Kodoo) was under treatment in General Hospital where his operation was carried out.

Javed Kodoo requested the Punjab government to make permanent arrangements to help the needy and ailing artists.
