Lahore : UK’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew called on the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here today. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including promotion of the Pak-UK relations and expansion in bilateral relations in different sectors came under discussion.
On the occasion, the British High Commissioner said that different steps of the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for bringing improvement in quality of life of the people and overall development of the province are praiseworthy. A meaningful strategy has been adopted for the development of different social sectors including health and education and steps of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif aiming at public welfare are worth following. He said that performance of Punjab government is praiseworthy and added that mutual cooperation will be extended with the Punjab government in health, education, skills development and other social sectors.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that UK is a major trade partner of Pakistan and both Pakistan and UK enjoy long-lasting cordial relations. The incumbent government has worked very hard to get rid of the crises. He said that Punjab of 2017 is more peaceful, developed and prosperous than before. We appreciate the UK’s cooperation for the development of health, education and skills development sectors and this partnership in the journey of development between Pakistan and the UK will be further strengthened in the coming days.
