Punjab University will introduce IT-based learning management system

Lahore : Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has said that the administration had aimed at introducing latest IT-based learning management system in all the academic departments of the university and now this system will be launched at Institute of Education and Research as pilot project soon.

He was addressing the orientation ceremony of newly admitted students at Institute of Education and Research at Faisal Auditorium here on Thursday.

PU Dean Faculty of Education Prof Dr Mumtaz Akhtar, Director Institute of Education and Research Prof Dr Rafaqat Ali Akbar, Prof Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry, chairpersons of various departments, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said that the modern system was an opportunity for students to interact with teachers online during the course of their studies. He said that teachers would give a comprehensive program of the whole semester using the system.

He said that faculty and student portals would also be developed. He said that the administration was making efforts and ensuring quality education to bring PU amongst top-ranked universities of the world. He said that the students were bright future of Pakistan and encouraged them to come up with new ideas.

He advised them to promote peace and tolerance in the society. Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Rafaqat Ali Akbar said that teachers were nation builders so this was one of the most important segments of the country.

He said that only those students would meet success who would work hard and pay attention to their studies. He said students must join this profession with passion to serve the country.
