Lahore : IGP Punjab Capt (R) Arif Nawaz has given a farewell party to his former boss Usman Khattak on his retirement.
The IGP paid rich tribute to Usman Khattak for his services to the police department and said he was a man with a kind heart who served the masses with honesty.
Usman Khattak was removed from the post of IGP on Lahore High Court orders as he had only a few months of service remaining . He was asked to serve under the command of his junior officer who prima facie maneuvered to de-seat him and arranged a petitioner for court orders but he went on leave and left the department on reaching the age of superannuation.
Capt(R) Muhammad Usman Khattak was the most senior officer serving in Punjab, he belonged to district Attock and was from 12th common. He joined police service in 1984 as ASP and is commanding Punjab police as AIG training since 4 years.
He served as SP Bhakar , Jehlum ,Rawalpindi , DPO Toba Tek Singh , DPO DG Khan , DPO Narrowal , Commandant Police College Sihala , DIG Traffic Lahore , DIG VVIP Security Special Branch , Additional IG Training .
He retired from service during current year on 1st November 2017.
