Lahore : Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt created New Commonwealth Championships record and won Gold Medal for Pakistan on final day of 2017 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held 03-09 September at Carrara Sports & Leisure Center, Gold Coast City, Australia.
Nooh Butt also competed in Senior Commonwealth Championship and won Silver Medal for Pakistan also by deafeating India, New Zealand, Australia, England and Samoa, Naru and TGA players.
Pakistan Fielded 2 Player in +105 Kg category which includes Nooh Dastgir Butt in Junior and Senior and Muhammad Abdullah Butt in Senior Championship.
India, New Zealand, Australia and Samoa fielded two players each in this category of super heavy weight category.
Nooh Dastgir Butt out classed ALL Junior and Senior weightlifters leaving behind and only lost from Samoa’s experienced player in Senior championships.
Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt lifted 167 Kg in Snatch and 222 Kg in Clean + Jerk with a total of 389 Kg. All these lifts are new Commonwealth Junior Recod and Pakistan New National Records.
Previous records were also held by Nooh Butt which were 165 Kg Snatch and 215 Kg clean+ jerk with total of 380 Kg. Nooh Butt shattered all National Records on Australian soil and raised Pakistani flag high at 2017 Commonwealth Junior & Senior Weightlifting Championships.
Abdullah Butt of Pakistan also lifted in this category and lifted 163 Kg in Snatch and 2015 Kg Clean +Jerk with a total of 368 Kg and was placed on 4th Place in Senior Championship.
Earlier on 5th September in 62 Kg category Talha Talib of Pakistan won Gold in Junior and Silver Medal in Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.
Pakistan Weightlifting created history at Australian soil by winning 2 Gold and 2 Silver Medals, which has never been won before in the history of Pakistan in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.
IWF qualified Coaches Ali Aslam Ch, and Muhammad Rashed Malik did their excellent job by giving best expert coaching during these competitions of 2017 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held at Gold Coast City Australia which is the venue of 2018 Gold Coast Games.
Pakistan Team will return home on 10th September (Sunday) by Malindo Air Flight OD 131 arriving at Lahore International Airport on 08:30 PM.
