Lahore : Sports Board Punjab, under the directives of Director General Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman, is holding several sports events to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner. In this regard, the schedule of Independence Day sports events has been released by Sports Board Punjab (SBP).
The holding of high profile 4-day Coaches and Swimmers camp at State of the Art Punjab International Swimming Complex in Nishtar Park Sports Complex is also part of Independence Day celebrations.
According to schedule, National Under-18 Women hockey Championship will be played from August 4 to 11 at National Hockey Stadium. Chief Minister Jashan-e-Azadi Cricket Cup will be organised at LCCA ground from August 5 to 8. Punjab Stadium will host Amateur Wrestling competitions on 5th of this month while Independence Day Kabaddi Tournament will also be staged at the same venue two days later. Jashan-e-Azadi Volleyball Tournament will be contested at Nishtar Park Sports Complex on August 9. Cricket lovers will also watch an entertaining cricket match between Film/TV Stars and Cricket Veterans at Punjab Stadium on the same day.
Nishtar Park Sports Complex will host Independence Day badminton (boys and girls) event on 10th and table tennis competitions on 11th of this month respectively. A religious harmony cricket match will be played at Punjab Stadium on 11th, cycling championship on 12th while an exhibition hockey match will be competed between Pakistan Seniors and Pakistan Juniors at National Hockey Stadium on 13th of this month.
Moreover, the sports culture float will also be exhibited in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi from August 10- to 14.
