9 cops embraced martyrdom in bomb attack at the Ferozepur Road

Lahore : As many as 26 people including 9 police officials, have embraced martyrdom while another 54 have been injured in a suicide bomb attack at the Ferozepur Road today.

SI Riaz , As Fayyaz , constable Muazzam,Sajid,Umair,Gulam Murtaza, Ali Raza,Abid were among the victims. Ali Raza and Ghulam Murtaza were brothers .

According to a spokesman of the Counter Terrorism Department, Punjab, a suicide bomber blew himself up today at 3.55 PM near a police squad deputed on Ferozepur Road near Arfa Karim Tower in connection with an anti encroachment campaign.

As a result of it, 26 people including 9 police officials have been martyred while another 54 injured. The injured and the bodies of the dead were immediately rushed to the hospitals. The investigation agencies immediately cordoned off the area to collect the vital evidences.

In the meantime, emergency was imposed in all the hospitals of the provincial metropolis and while the injured were being provided with the first aid.
