Lahore : Columnist , writer and Veteran journalist Asghar Shad passes away. Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Elehe Rajeune. His funeral prayer would be offered tomorrow at markazi Eidgha , Gowalmandi, Rawalpindi at 11 A.M.
Asghar Shad was a very kind hearted and well-reputed man who worked with Nawa-i-Waqt over decades . He was serving as a Bureau Chief in Rawalpindi.
For a certain time period, he hosted a programme on public issues at Waqt News. He also wrote number of books and TV plays.
His son Imran Asghar is also a journalist and working with Express News.
Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of veteran journalist Asghar Shad.
In a statement, the minister said Asghar Shad was not only a seasoned journalist but he proved his mettle as a writer as well.
She said his services for the welfare of media community would also
be remembered.
The minister prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in
eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
