Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that politics in Pakistan had become a profitable business and those claiming to be the representatives of the poor were ignoring the basic rights of the masses and serving personal ends.
He was addressing the NCHD employees protesting in the federal capital. The Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah, was also present on the occasion.
Siraj ul Haq said that the ruling elite considered the government employees a burden on the society while in fact, the rulers themselves were the burden on the masses as they were spending billions on their luxuries. He said that in the budget, there was relief for the well to do but nothing for the poor. The Rs. 15000 minimum wages had also not been implemented although this was a very small amount to meet the basic needs of a small family.
Siraj ul Haq said he did not expect the rulers to solve the problems of the employees and common workers as this was not possible under the prevailing system. He said that the problems of the masses could be solved only under the system given by Allah.
The JI chief deplored that the government had not fulfilled any of its promises made to the FATA people and the recommendations of the Sartaj Aziz Committee had also not been implemented.
He said that the JI would stand by the FATA people and ensure the grant of their basic rights.
