Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to Bhikki Gas Power Plant today. Engineers and Experts of General Electric and Chinese company briefed him about the technical reasons due to which turbines went closed. Afterwards, the Chief Minister inspected different parts and gas turbines of the plant.
In the briefing, Shahbaz Sharif was informed that technical fault in the first plant will be fixed tonight and electricity will be restored through this plant.
Speaking on this moment, the Chief Minister said that technical reasons which turned off gas turbines of Bhikhi Power Plant are being resolved on emergency basis and every necessary step is being taken in this regard. We have promised our people of electricity and to fulfill this promise, electricity generated through this plant is of great importance, he added.
He hoped that tonight more than 300-MW electricity will be provided to national grid through this plant. He said that steps are being taken to remove technical errors of other gas turbine soon and directions have been conveyed to officials of General Electric Company in this regard.
Devoted struggles of current government have completed development projects in a record time however interruption in this project was due to technical reasons which we all are trying to eliminate and we hope that national grid will be added up with 300MW electricity through this plant soon.
Shahbaz Sharif visited gas turbines and passed on necessary instructions on the spot. Secretary Energy and Chief Executive Officer Ahad Khan Cheema also accompanied Shahbaz Sharif.
