Lahore : A 10-member delegation headed by Haji Muhammad Irshad President All Pakistan Clerks Association, Punjab called on the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja today in the ACS conference room, Civil Secretariat, Lahore.
The delegation presented a charter of demands to the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab and requested to implement up-gradation of certain technical and non-technical cadres of non-gazette government functionaries which have been deprived of this facility till now.
The delegation also demanded to convey the demand to increase the house rent being paid to the provincial government servants in Punjab at the rate of monthly salary which has been recently announced according to the new pay scales.
The delegation also demanded to remove discrepancy in the monthly pay of the functionaries of Punjab government as compared to the functionaries of other provinces of Pakistan.
Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja paid a patient hearing to the APCA office bearers and assured them that their charter of demands would be considered positively as the Punjab government was well aware of the problems of the government functionaries especially that of economic difficulties being confronted by the lower cadre officials.
He informed the delegation that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has a soft corner for the welfare of low-paid employees of the Punjab government and all out relief in real sense will be given to this important segment of the society in the coming budget of fiscal year 2017-18.
