President of Exim Bank of China Liu Liange called on CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif held a detailed meeting with the President of Export Import Bank of China (Exim Bank) Liu Liange at the headquarters of the bank today.

While talking to the President of Exim Bank, the Chief Minister said that CPEC is the most vital part of One Belt One Road Project and maintained that One Belt One Road will be felt at the international level. This project is the reflection of political acumen and futurist approach of Chinese visionary President Xi Jinping; which would help a number of countries to come nearer to each other, and a new era of development, prosperity and peace would usher in.

While talking about Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project, the Chief Minister said that every effort is being made to work speedily on Orange Line Metro Train. Due to some legal complexities, delay has occurred at some points, but every effort would be made to remove the backlog as soon as the court permission is granted. He said that quality, transparency and fast-track completion has been ensured in the projects initiated in collaboration with China in Pakistan, especially in the Punjab.

The coal power plant set up in collaboration with China in Sahiwal has started producing electricity; while work is going on day and night on other projects. I have been personally supervising the development on projects, he added.

He said that every penny received from China is being utilized as a sacred trust; and that’s the reason that many a projects are touching new heights today.

The President of Exim Bank of China told the Chief Minister that the Punjab government has come up to the expectations of Chinese financial institutions with regard to quality, speed and transparency. We feel fully secured and satisfied about the projects having involvement of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He assured that financial cooperation with the Punjab will continue in the future as well.

The Chief Minister presented an album of photographs showing development on different development projects in the Punjab including energy and infrastructure related projects.

In the attendance of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and President Exim Bank, agreement on governmental soft loans was signed for Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite Project between Ministry of Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization of Government of Pakistan and the Exim Bank of China.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif met with a high level delegation of Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology led by Director Luv Min in Beijing, today.

The meeting agreed to extend cooperation in industry and information technology sectors. While talking to the Chinese delegation, the Chief Minister said that China is unequivocally sharing its experiences of unusual achievement with Pakistan, and this benevolence of China reflects the unprecedented friendship of both the countries. There is no doubt that the economic cooperation of China is very useful; and along with it, the Chinese advises are also very useful and beneficial.

The Director Luv Min told the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that along with energy and infrastructure sectors, cooperation in the industrial sector with Pakistan is part of our priorities; and in this regard, cooperation would be extended for closer collaboration with Pakistan, especially the Punjab.

In the meantime, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting with President of Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Gu Shu in Beijing, and held discussions for enhancing investment in energy, infrastructure, and other sectors.

The Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also held a meeting with President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liquin in Beijing. The President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank assured for the provision of resources, on priority basis, for projects initiated with Chinese cooperation, and said that Chinese financial institutions have had a good experience of work in Pakistan.
