PML-N lawmakers visit protest camp held to condemn PTI

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : A protest camp was established here at Saddar Chowk by traders belonging to PML-N to condemn 10 May attack on Chairman Municipal Committee Haji Nasir by opposition PTI councilors and their supporters.

The camp was attended by Punjab Minister for Women Hamida Waheed, MNA Mumtaz Tarar, MNA Nasir Bosal, MPA Shafqat Gondal, Ex MPA Divan Mushtaq and large number of traders and PMLN workers. They condemned the attack in strong words and expressed their solidarity with the chairman.

Partial strike was also observed by traders in the city as mark to show their sympathies and support with the chairman. On the other hand Chairman Pindi Purani UC Arshad Kakoo, MC councilors Naeem Maiken and Javed Kakoana  involved in attacking and torturing the chairman with other 50 persons have been booked under Section 395, 365, 188, 440, 148, 149, 109 PPC, 7 ATA by City police.

Arshad Kakoo has been arrested where as some of the accused have sought protective bail from Lahore High Court Lahore, it is learnt. The rest of the accused are being tracked by police for arrest. The accused councilors accompanied by supporters on Wednesday assaulted the chairman in his office when he refused to allocate development funds for their wards.

The accused allegedly belabored and dragged the chairman out of the office and attempted to abduct him for murdering. MC office was also closed.
