Lahore : We unconditionally supports anti-encroachment operations launched in different markets by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) which will help transform Islamabad into a beautiful city, business leaders said Sunday.
We welcome the move of the Mayor of Islamabad and CDA Sheikh Ansar Aziz who wants to make Islamabad one of the most beautiful cities in the world, said former president of Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Malik Nadeem Akhtar, former VP Tahir Yasin Satti, former GS Dr. Qamar Shahzad and others.
Ongoing anti-encroachment drive should continue without any fear or favour until the complete elimination of encroachments, they said.
The business leaders noted that major operations have been carried out in Abpara, Jinnah Super, F-10, Khadda Market and come other locations but some markets are yet to be cleaned which also include Super market.
They said that all the verandas of shopping areas, parking areas, greenbelts etc. should be cleared of encroachments so that masses take get some relief as Ever-increasing encroachments have become a permanent nuisance for the shoppers and pedestrians.
They lauded CDA officials for demolishing several illegal constructions including illegally constructed rooms, boundary walls, illegal tea stalls and cabin like shops.
The business community will extend every support the Mayor in his plan to restore Islamabad’s Master Plan and provision of facilities like health, education, clean drinking water, sewerage, parking, encroachments, street lights etc., they said.
Lauding the decision of the Mayor and Chairman CDA to all owners of commercial buildings to add one storey they said it is a wise move.
Decision to construct parking plazas, new hospitals, infrastructure expansion and underpasses will improve the overall situation.
Business community has realised the sincerity of the efforts of CDA and a change in its policies therefore it has started investing in CDA related projects.
