Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : The Commandant Pakistan Rangers Academy Col Asghar Niazi congratulated 50 students securing 90% and above marks in 9th and 10th classes’ exam.
He was addressing a cash awarding ceremony held at Rangers Public School and College. He said it was a great day in history of Rangers Public School and College Mandi Bahauddin.
It is mesmerizing and result of strenuous efforts of teaching staff and hard work of students that our students secured in a range of 90 to 98% marks in the Federal Board Exam. It is a matter of great pleasure and proud for the parents, faculty members and students, and for me too, he added.
He appreciated and congratulated teachers and students for showing excellent results. The ceremony was attended by students, their parents, faculty members, Rangers and army serving and retired officers and notables of the area.
Mrs. Col Niazi was the chief guest on the occasion. Earlier, the Principal Rangers Public School and College Lt Col (retd) Rana Maqsood briefly touched upon achievements of the college.
He said their main focus was to provide conducive learning atmosphere to students in the school and imparting them quality education, following modern concepts. Character building and preparing the students to compete with top brains of the world is given top priority, he added.
He said size of classes is kept 30 students for better and effective management of class activities. Besides education, emphasis is given to sports and extracurricular activities. He said last year’s two students of this college got admission in state run medical colleges and four were admitted in private colleges on merit. Mandi Bahauddin Rangers School was placed as the best among 25 Rangers run Schools across the country. With regard to supports he said their two students had been selected for under-19-year National Cricket Team and they were attending training camp at Gujranwala, at present. In rangers inter- schools debate competition our students won first and third position.
Referring to improvement in the school infrastructure and facilities, he said number of class rooms had been increased to cope with increasing number of students. Evening classes had been started to enable more students to avail education facilities of this premier school. This was followed by awarding cash prizes to the students securing 90% and above marks.
Mrs. Col Asghar gave prizes to female students while male students were given prizes by Col Asghar. Students of class 9 received prizes of Rs 10000 and students of class 10 received Rs 12000 each. Students of lower classes winning first, second and third positions were given prizes of Rs 2000 each.
More than .55 million rupees prizes were distributed on the occasion. Teachers with exemplary performance were also awarded prizes.
The function was ended with refreshment where the commandant mingled with parents and teaching staff and exchanged view with them for further improvement of the school and quality of education.
The school Vice Principal Mst Humera Sadique Mughal conducted the function.
