Intercollegiate boys championship begins

PUTD’s Muhammad Nasir wins 200 meter race

Lahore : The two-day 120th Punjab University Intercollegiate boys championship has kicked off here at New Campus ground on Monday. As many as 31 teams of affiliated colleges participated in the event.

Punjab University Chairman Sports Committee Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, Director Students Affairs Shahid Mahmood Gul, Acting Director Sports Shamsa Hashmi, Additional Director Sports Mehmood Khalid, Deputy Director Students Affairs Zubair Akram, officials and a large number of players participated in the event.

The two hundred meter race positions were clinched by PU Teaching Department’s Muhammad Nasir, Govt. College Jhang Hassnain Raza and Akhwan College Barki Ali Raza secured first, second and third respectively.

On the first day, hammer throw, long jump, discs throw, rally race and other athletic competitions were held. The concluding ceremony will be held on Tuesday at 3pm at new campus ground.

PU VC Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir will be chief guest.
