Lahore : Punjab Health Department has decided to regularize as many as 3000 nurses presently working on contract basis. The Department has completed its home work and a summary would be forwarded to Punjab Chief Minister very soon in this regard.
This was informed by Director General Nursing Punjab Kousar Perveen here today while addressing a ceremony held in connection with awarding a nurse for her extra ordinary performance during incident of blast occurred at Defense area. The nurse named Ammara served the injured of blast relentlessly and did not stop even her uniform got speckled with blood.
The event was attended by AMS Dr. Shabnam Gulzar, Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Farhat Mahboob, Director Nursing Sajida Zahoor, Razia Bano and a large number of nurses. Kousar Perveen said that Chief Minister Punjab is focused to ensure maximum provision of medical facilities for masses by strengthening Health Department and the department is also considering the policy of regularizing the nurses recruited against the posts created by Board of Management. She further told that the government has adopted the policy to give confidence to employees whether they are permanent or contract based.
She said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is much keen to impart modern training to nurses. He had sent a group of 20 nurses to Turkey for this purpose and next badge of nurses belonging to the hospital of South Punjab is also ready to move to Turkey for another training session. These policies have resulted into the improvement of standard of nursing in medical care.
Speaking on the occasion, Farhat Mahboob said that Turk Health Department was much impressed by the talent of Pakistani nurses and they gave commendatory certificates to them when they left for Pakistan. She said that Punjab health department is also committed to honor those nurses who show great sense of responsibility while performing their duties.
