KFC Iqbal Town fined over using unhygienic oil

Lahore : To ensure availability of healthy food in the province, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday conducted raids in various areas of the city and imposed heavy fines against food outlets on the charges of selling of substandard food items.

According to detail, the raiding team lead by Director PFA Rafia Haider has imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 against an international food chain KFC Iqbal Town outlet for using unhygienic oil during cooking and issued warring to 71 food outlets for not maintaining cleanliness standards at their premises.

During another raid, PFA team also imposed fine of  Rs 20,000 against another restaurant namely Mian Gi restaurant located at Multan road for using substandard material and for not keeping hygienic condition in its kitchen.

The PFA team also fined another food outlet located at Gulberg road of Rs 9000 for lack of cleanliness at their premises.

The PFA team also conducted raids in the other parts of the city and issued warning to 71 eateries to improve their condition otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
