Lahore : Former CJP Justice (R) Sajjad Ali Shah passed away in Karachi at the age of 84 years(born in February 17, 1933 ),today on Tuesday.
Sajjad Ali Shah was appointed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1994 after the retirement of Dr. Nasim Hasan Shah. Later, she was dismissed by President Farooq Leghari on charges of corruption and Sajjad Ali Shah along with 6 other members of the Supreme Court upheld this decision. He was the Chief Justice of Pakistan from 4 June 1994 to 2 December 1997.
Some private news channels aired news of his death on Monday that gone viral on the social media.
After airing of the news, some political leaders also issued condolence statements. However, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s son termed all such news baseless. He said by the grace of Allah Almighty his father is alive and news about his death on some channels is not accurate.
