Lahore : Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab, Brig. (R) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha has made it clear that Anti-Corruption Punjab will not be blackmailed by corrupt elements and supremacy of law will be upheld at all costs.
Commenting upon strike of some doctors as a result of action taken for the arrest of doctors involved in corruption at Services Hospital Lahore, DG Anti-Corruption said that contrary to local police, Anti-Corruption conducts formal inquiry after any corruption complaint and then FIR is registered in the light of inquiry report.
He told that the matter of corruption at Services Hospital was probed for one year and technical wing of Anti-Corruption Headquarters assisted three members inquiry team. During investigation, technical wing scrutinized all record and after collecting evidence, registered a case against the accused involved in corruption.
DG Anti-Corruption clarified that all the accused involved in corruption case including doctors will have to come to court of law. He advised protesting doctors that the accused should surrender before law instead of protest and instead of fighting against patients, their attendants and nurses fight a legal war. He said if there was no threat of hue and cry in the hospital, the criminals would have been arrested so far.
He said protest of doctors by making nurses as shield is deplorable. Patronizing corrupt elements by neglecting patients is what kind of “Massehae” Muzaffar Ali Ranjha questions. He said doctors should realize the situation as decision of rule of law has been made at policy level and terrorists and groups creating law and order situation will be eliminated.
DG Anti-Corruption thanked media on exposing the facts of strike in favor of doctors’ corruption and said that majority of doctors has supported supremacy of law and it is the responsibility of senior and young doctors to bring black sheep out of their community. He expressed sorrow over giving political coloring to the matter and said that the arrest of corrupt doctors is not a political issue for holding negotiations.
