Rangers to hold operation against the terrorist in Punjab : Provincial Apex Committee

Lahore : Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali met Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today.

The Chief Minister Punjab and the Core Commander jointly condemned recent incidents of terrorism and offered sincere condolences to the bereaved families.

During the meeting, they paid gratitude to the invaluable services rendered by Pakistan Army and young police officers and also appreciated the bravery of those who have lost their lives during the ongoing war on terrorism.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that those who have lost their lives for the future of Pakistan are real heroes and we are proud of them. The Chief Minister said that by rendering eternal sacrifices in the war on terror Pakistan has made a history at the international level.

The Chief Minister said that the sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not be wasted. The Chief Minister said that it is our collective responsibility to make Pakistan a peaceful country.

The Chief Minister said that the brave forces of Pakistan are capable of facing any kind of challenge.

Meanwhile ; Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here today chaired an important meeting of Provincial Apex Committee. 

National Security Adviser (R) Lt Gen Nasser Khan Janjua, Corps Commander Lahore Lt General Sadiq Ali, Provincial Minister for Counter Terrorism Colonel (R) Muhammad Ayub, Punjab DG Rangers Major General Azhar Naveed Hayat, General Officer Commanding 10 Division Major General Sardar Tariq Aman, Chief Secretary Captain (R) Zahid Saeed, Inspector General Police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, Secretary Interior Major (R) Azam Sulaiman Khan and other high civil and military officers also took part in the meeting.

In the Apex Committee meeting, briefing was given to arrest those responsible behind the Lahore suicide attack and to bust terror networks. During the meeting, appreciation was also given to provincial counter terrorism department and timely and effective performance of Punjab government.

During the Apex Committee meeting, doubt was expressed that terrorist network from Afghanistan might be used in the terrorist attack in Lahore. During the meeting, it was also decided that Punjab government would seek help from Rangers and in this matter procedure details will be set separately.

It was also decided in the meeting that there would be focused and indiscriminate operation against terrorists and their facilitators. Those who will provide sanctuary to these terrorists will also not be spared. It was also decided in the meeting to broaden the scope of operation on the basis of intelligence and to take strong measures to stop the illegal movement of Afghan migrants.

It was also decided to strictly watch the bordering divisions of Punjab. It was also decided to enhance the cooperation between all intelligence networks in order to tackle any internal and external challenges and to have the meeting of provincial intelligence committee on regular basis.

It was also decided to take indiscriminate operation against all the banned organizations and to arrest all the active workers of these organizations. It was also decided to stop all the sources that provide financial assistance to these banned organizations and to provide fool proof security to foreigners and all CPEC related projects.

During the meeting, recent incident of terrorist attack in Lahore was strongly condemned and Fateha was also offered for those who have lost their lives and sincere condolences were also offered to the bereaved families.

The provincial apex committee expressed unity with the heirs of Shauhada and paid tribute to their invaluable services. During the meeting, appreciation was also given to Punjab Safe City project. In the provincial apex committee meeting, all the participants show determination to end terrorism, militancy, extremism and sectarian violence from the country and to take immediate measures to achieve this end.

While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that we would not let anyone play with fire or blood on Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan. The people of Pakistan do not deserve terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence on their soil. This war will not end until and unless terrorism will not end in the country and those who are responsible for it will be brought to justice.

The Chief Minister said that the political and military leadership is on the same page in this war against terrorism. Terrorists will be held accountable for every drop of blood. During the meeting, progress was also reviewed on the initiatives taken under the National Action Plan in order to end terrorism, militancy, extremism and sectarian violence in the country.
