Zahid Gondal laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : The funeral prayers of Acting DIG operation Zahid Gondal martyred in Lahore suicide blast were offered at his native village Sanda, 55 kilometer in South West from here.

Corps Commander Lt General Ikram, Commissioner Gujranwala Capt (R) Muhammad Asif, RPO Gujranwala,Deputy Commissioner MB Din Muzaffar Khan sial, DPO Umer Salamat, MNA Nasir Bossal,ADC Afzaal Warraich, other Officers of district administration and police, locals and relatives of the deceased in large number attended the prayers.

Special prayers were also held for grant of highest rank and peace to the departed soul in heaven. Thereafter Zahid Gondal was laid to rest in his ancestral grave yard. Earlier his dead body was brought from Lahore by Helicopter.

Meanwhile today i.e. Tuesday was observed as mourning day across the district and market and business activities remained suspended. Lawyers also mourn the deaths resulting from Lahore blast. They boycotted courts and held meetings where Lahore Blast was strongly condemned. The meeting paid tributes to police officers embracing martyrdom in line of duty. Lawyers also prayed for highest rank for departed souls and expressed their sympathies with heirs of the deceased. They wished early recovery of the injured of the incident.

The meeting also termed the blast as failure of law enforcing agencies. They urged government to eliminate root causes of terrorism by ending corruption and following merit policy while selecting and appointing persons for government service.
