ADC Nargis Shazia visited District Jail Mandi Bahauddin

Mandi Bahauddin: Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Nargis Shazia visited District Jail the other day. She checked prisoners barracks and standard of hygiene and cleanliness of the jail in general and cook house in particular.

She met jail inmates and listened to their complaints. She checked cook house and tested food. She also inspected the jail hospital and Tib Centre.

She inquired from the patients about their health and quality of treatment, and wished them speedy recovery. She also checked medicine stocks of allopathic and Greek medicines in the hospital and found them sufficient to meet requirement of the patients.

On visit to juvenile prisoners cell she did not find water supply arrangements satisfactorily and that she pointed out to the jail superintendent and asked him to ensure water supply uninterrupted for the youngsters.

Looking at the condition of youngsters in the cell she, feeling grieved said involvement of youngsters at this stage of age is a matter that should draw deep concern of the society.
