Lahore : Hamza Shahbaz MNA has directed to timely complete ongoing development schemes throughout the province. He said that according to the directions of Chief Minister, special priority should be given to the districts of south Punjab while implementing the policy of 10 percent additional development projects for the region so that maximum facilities be provided to the people of less developed areas.
He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting of Punjab Annual Development Programme. Hamza Shehbaz directed that secretaries and Chairman Planning & Development should ensure coordinated strategy on rural water supply, Khadim-e-Punjab Programme and other development projects.
Hamza Shahbaz also directed to complete ongoing projects of communication and works in Bahawalpur and south Punjab. He said that delay in completion of development projects will not be tolerated. He said that a mechanism should be evolved in which community organizations and elected representatives should be taken on board.
He said that steps should also be taken for early completion of 98 km long Lodhran Khanewal Road. He also directed to complete PC1 for Muzaffargarh to Dera Ghazi Khan Road and construct Shehbazpur Bridge as soon as possible.
Hamza Shahbaz directed to ensure provision of funds for hospital management system and said that health sector is among top priorities of the Chief Minister. He said that completion of Murree Hospital should be ensured by May 30.
Similarly, necessary steps should be taken for the completion of more development projects of 9900 million rupees at nine divisional headquarters. He directed that projects like sports gymnasium should be reviewed again for curtailing unnecessary expenditure. He said that importance of technical education has increased with CPEC and other historical projects.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and Senator Saood Majeed were also present and spoke on the occasion.
Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning and Development and secretaries informed about the pace of work on different projects and problems faced in Sargodha, Gujrat, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal and other districts.
The meeting was told that 5242 km long roads will be completed during current financial year while 275 schemes of water and sanitation will be completed. Similarly, CT scan system and laboratories are being set up through third party in 21 hospitals while 97 development schemes are being completed. Police department is constructing 118 police stations.
Briefings were also given by Education Department, Punjab Education Foundation, Vocational Training and other departments.
