Lahore : Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer ud Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Ghiyas-un-Nabi Tayyab has said that Uro-Gynae Outdoor Clinic has become need of the hour in order to timely diagnose and treatment of gynea-related complications. He said that connecting both the departments of gynecology and urology will go a long way to diagnose such problems of female about which they always feel shy to mention even at home.
He expressed these views while addressing one day Uro-Gynae Symposium organized by departments of Urology and Gynecology in collaboration with Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons today at a local hotel. The symposium was also addressed by Prof. Mumtaz Ahmed, Prof. Muhammad Nazeer, Prof. Tayyaba Waseem, Dr. Shah jehan, Dr. Saleem Malik, Dr Kamran Zaidi, Dr. Zeeshan Venis and renowned doctors of the province. A large number of young doctors and nursing staff attended the event.
Principal Ghiyas un Nabi Tayyab said that female are 52% of our population. But women folk often overlook their urine and bladder related problems and even do not approach to doctors on these issues which further complicates them. While addressing the symposium the experts said that urinary problems must not be neglected but at the same time women should not go to untrained midwives for this sort of diseases because such treatment is always very dangerous for the newly born baby and mother.
The speakers were of the view that Uro-Gynae Outdoor Clinic is the right solution for this type of women problems. In accordance with the direction of Punjab Chief Minister, Uro-Gynae Outdoor service has been initiated with the collaboration of department of Urology and Gynecology at Lahore General Hospital and this theme is needed to be expanded in whole of the province, the speakers stressed. Commendatory Certificates and shields were also distributed at the end of symposium.
