Lahore : Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq visited Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur to inquire after the health of the injured children who got injured in a train accident in the vicinity of Lodhran Railway Station, here, today.
Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq visited the department of Neurosurgery, Bahawal Victoria Hospital and went to the beds of the admitted children:- Arsalan Suleman, Saqlain, Muhammad Yousuf and Zahid. He inquired after their health.
The concerned Doctors briefed the visiting Minister regarding the health profile of the admitted children and apprised of the visiting Minister regarding the medical cover provided to the admitted children at Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
During his visit Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq assured the parents of the admitted children that Government would provide the best medical treatment to the admitted children till their complete recovery. He also assured the parents and relatives of the admitted children that Government would initiate strict administrative action against the concerned officials of the Railway department who would be found guilty in the inquiry which lead to this accident.
Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq was accompanied by MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja, MPA Fouzia Ayub Qureshi, Chairman BWMC Samiullah Chaudhry, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Regional Police Officer Muhammad Idrees Ahmad, Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor Dr. Ajlal Haider Rizvi and officials of the Railway department on this occasion.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that Government has initiated a comprehensive inquiry to probe in detail the causes which lead to the fatal accident which claimed the lives of the innocent children due to an accident in the vicinity of Lodhran Railway Station. He made these remarks while talking to the Media persons during his visit to Bahawal Victoria Hospital to inquire after the health of admitted children, here, today.
“The Government has undertaken an inquiry to hold a thorough probe through transparent mechanism to fix the responsibility which lead to the fatal accident and gate keeper of Railway crossing and both the drivers have been taken into police custody and after thorough probe strict action would be taken against those officials of Railway who would be found responsible in this regard”, Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq noted.
Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that Government has sharpened the pace to modernize the Railway infrastructure and by spending funds to the tune of Rs. 280 million for construction work of a new building of Railway Station of Bahawalpur is underway which would be completed in December 2017.
