Major portion of the civil work is completed on package one : Kh. Ahmad Hassaan

Lahore : Civil work being executed on Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project was better than international standards as quality and finishing of locally precast transoms and U-tub girders was finer than the infrastructure of Dubai Metro Train.

Chairman of the Steering Committee for the project, Kh. Ahmad Hassaan, observed this while talking to media men after inspecting the construction work going on along the 12 kilometers long package one of Orange Line .

Public facilitation has been given the top priority during implementation of this mega project as per vision of the Chief Minister, Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and more than 90 per cent roads along package one had also be reconstructed for smooth flow of traffic along G.T.Road and other areas, he added.

He told that major portion of the completed civil work on package one will be handed over to Chinese contractor CR-NORINCO in January for carrying out electrical and mechanical works related to the project.

He further informed that work order had been issued to the new contractor for completing the remaining construction work on package two of the project form Chauburji to Ali Town. Work will resume very soon along this segment of the project and will be completed as per international standards.

Earlier, Kh. Ahmad Hassaan, took a round of the entire alignment of package one starting from Dera Gujjran near Lahore Ring Road up to Chauburji via G.T. Road, Nicholson Road, Mcleod Road, Jain Mandir and other areas. Chief Executive Habib Construction Services Shahid Saleem, project director Hammad Ul Hassan and other officers also accompanied him at this occasion.
