Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of provincial cabinet committee on law and order here today which reviewed overall law and order situation in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that provision of a peaceful and secure environment to the citizens is the basic responsibility of the state, therefore, the government is attaching top priority to the protection of life and property of the masses.
The Chief Minister directed that police and law enforcement agencies should perform their responsibilities efficiently and uphold law and justice. He said that the campaign against criminal and anti-social elements should be continued without any discrimination and all necessary measures should be taken for improving law and order.
Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Jahangir Khanzada, Advisor Rana Maqbool, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and concerned officials were present.
