Lahore : President Awam League Riaz Fatyana has said that Highways Police failed to control traffic flow on N-5, from Manga to Lahore specially near Chong .
Riaz Fatyana said that, heavy trucks travel on extreme right lane. Ambulances carrying serious patients are mostly struck off and try to cross from left wrong side or off mettled road. Traffic police is less interested to help ambulances or to intervene and to control heavy trailers . Right lane should be reserved for emergency vehicles including ambulances and police or for overtaking only. He said that 35,000 persons are being killed in Pakistan every year due to road accidents. Driving licence can be purchased in a few thousands rupees without knowing traffic rules and driving. In cities, traffic wardens are busy on chatting and messaging on their smart phones. Government and its paid officials should be serious for good governance and traffic discipline to save precious time and life of citizens.
