Health Department sealed unlicensed herbal laboratories

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Primary & Secondary Health & Chairman Chief Minister’s Task Force on Spurious/Substandard Medicines Kh. Imran Nazir conducted raid in Habibabad Tehsil Pattoki and captured ten unlicensed units manufacturing herbal/unani medicines. The raiding party confiscated machinery, raw material, prepared medicines and printing material of millions of rupees. All the premises have been sealed and eight accused were arrested.

According to the details, Kh. Imran Nazir on a secret tip had conducted the raid along with the raiding party which included drugs inspectors of districts Kasur, Okara and Lahore along with police party last night. Assistant Commissioner Pattoke was also accompanied the Minister.  The unlicensed herbal laboratories which have been sealed included Ahmed Brothers Unani Lab, Japan Herbal Pharma, Master Unani Laboratories, MA Unani Laboratories, SA Herbal Pharama, Rashid Unani Laboratories and Al-Hayat Unani Dawakhana. Police have registered FIRs against the accused and all the premises have been sealed whereas eight have been arrested.

Provincial Minister Kh. Imran Nazir while talking to the media persons, said that vigorous crackdown has been launched against the manufacturers and sellers of spurious, substandard and unlicensed medicines. He said that this operation would be continued till the complete eradication of such inhuman and heinous crime from the province.
