Lahore : Punjab Food Authority wasted 800 liters of expired cold drinks, 400 liters juice, 300 liters milk and 300 kilograms adulterated sugar and sealed a number of cold drink shops whereas, three sweets factories were sealed and 1335 kilograms of toffees were confiscated for mixing of cosmetics chemicals, talcum powder, textile colour and contaminated oil in toffees and bubble gums. Fine was imposed on 16 hotels and 27 were issued warning letter for improvement.
In Moon Market Iqbal Town, Sheikh Waris Nihari, Nashta Point, Chacha Basaa Sweets Halwa Puri were imposed fine of Rs.3,000 each, Ali Chicken and Biryani House and Madina Sweets were imposed fine of Rs.2,000 each. Haidri Naan Shop was imposed a fine of Rs.8,000, Mustafa Milk Shop Rs.5,000, Bismillah Hotel Rs.10,000, Bigman Sweets Rs.12,000. Ameen Chicken Chanay was imposed fine of Rs.3,000 and Hasni Hussaini Rs.7,500 in Firdous Market. In Mughal Pura, Mumtaz Sweets was imposed a fine of Rs.8,000, Bread n’ Beyond in Garhi Shahu with Rs.9,000. Noshahi Cooking Center and Haji Yaqoob Sweets on Sukh Neher were imposed fine of Rs.3,000 each, A and J Store Rs.7,500. Bilal Sweets Production Unit in Bilal Ganj was sealed due to unhygienic conditions and 45 liters of low quality sugar syrup was wasted.
A number of Paan and Cold Drink Shops on Outfall Road were sealed due to 800 liters of expired cold drinks, 400 liters of expired juice, 300 liters milk and 400 kilograms of adulterated sugar which were wasted at site.
Punjab Food Authority team in Faisalabad sealed outlets due to use of textile material, unhygienic conditions and for mixing polypropene in sweets. 1335 kilograms of toffees and sweets were confiscated. Zubair Confectioners in Hamza Colony was sealed for using talcum powder, textile colour, cosmetics chemicals etc. in bubble gums manufacturing. 13 hotels, bakeries, Dahi Bhala Shops and Paan Shops were issued warning for improvement. 2 hotels in Gujranwala were imposed fine where as Health Care Water Plant and 14 others were issued instructions and warning for improvement.
