Punjab government to use drone technology for correct measurement of lands

Lahore : Punjab government has decided to use drone technology for correct measurement of lands. The purpose of this decision is to modernize land record management system. A pilot project has been prepared for this purpose with the technical assistance of Punjab Information Technology Board.

According to a spokesman of Punjab government, use of information technology will help in accelerating computerization of land record. He said that besides maintaining correct record of land with the help of land record management information system. Punjab government has also ensured transparency in the matters of revenue. He said that this system has ensured up- to-date land record as well as transparency. Moreover, he said, computerization of land record has eliminated centuries-old exploitative Patwari system.

The spokesman said that use of drone technology will accelerate the process of mapping of lands and provision of better service delivery to the masses. He said that this project reflects the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to use modern technology to achieve the goal of good governance. Use of drone technology will also result in elimination of encroachments and earlier disposal of revenue cases.
