Lahore : Punjab Food Authority has accelerated crackdown against those preparing substandard and poor quality items. Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor ul Amin Mengal conducted a raid on production unit of a prominent cooking oil making company at Quid-e-Azam Industrial Estate Kot Lakhpat and imposed a fine of Rs. 10,00,000 on having rusted and non graded food machinery, poor cleanliness arrangements and presence of spider nets at storage place, ordered to stop production for one week while issuing notice for improvement.
In Gujranwala, Director Operations Rafia Haider conducted a raid on renowned ghee and cooking oil manufacturing factory and sealed it on non-presence of Halal certificate, 12 pass fake nutritionist and using non food grade colors.
Rawalpindi Team conducted a raid on a godown selling substandard and unhygienic and poor quality cooking oil and sealed the godown after taking 3150 liter unhygienic food into procession. Rawalpindi Team imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000 to Royalton Hotel on poor cleanliness.
Shalamar Town Team imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 to Rafique Sweet Products on poor quality while sealed Sabar Bakery and Javed bakery on non-presence of medical certificates of workers and poor cleanliness arrangements.
Gulberg Town Team imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 to Shahid Restaurant Faisal Town on selling substandard eatable items while Ravi Town Team imposed a fine of Rs. 7000 to Allaho Sweets and Bakers on poor cleanliness.
Faisalabad Team issued warning of improving cleanliness to Bhola Pan Shop, Madni Hotel, Ahsan Karyana Store, Jholy Lal Hotel Jhang Road, Al Kausar Ice Cream Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Mian Food Point, Azam Haleem, Iqbal Murgh Chany Jaranwala Road while Ameer Millat Sweets House Factory Area and issued warning of seal in case of non implementation of orders.
