Kashmir is a matter of survival of Pakistan : Lord Nazir Ahmed

lord-nazir-ahmedLahore : Renowned politician and member of British House of Lords Lord Nazir Ahmed has said that the issue of Kashmir was not limited to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination only rather it was a matter of survival of Pakistan.

He was addressing a seminar on Kashmir issue organized by Directorate of Students Affairs at Faisal Auditorium here on Monday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Director Students Affairs Shahid Gul, Deputy Director Zubair Ahmed, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Lord Nazir Ahmed said that Pakistani nation had always supported Kashmiri people however we had some complaints with Pakistani politicians. He said that Pakistan must support Sikh freedom movements in India and must work for their liberty. He said that 80 percent Sikhs were ready to get freedom from India.

He said that Kashmiris, Palestinians and Sikhs must get their rights. He said that if Khalistan emerged as independent country on the map of India, Kashmiris would also get independence automatically. He said that Pakistani leaders should openly support Kashmiris and Sikhs and should not have any fear.

He said that Modi would block Pakistan’s water if we did not respond to his statement in a proper manner. He said that we did not discuss Hindutava while Indian fundamentals wanted to convert religion of Muslims and Sikhs to Hindu forcibly. He said that surgical strike happened only in dream and Indian fundamentalists could not dare to attack Pakistan.

He said that Pakistani politicians must expose Indian secret agency RAW’s role in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He said that international human rights organizations had written reports on Indian atrocities in Kashmir however, international community did not put pressure on India which it should have put. He said that after martyrdom of young Kashmiri Leader Burhan Wani, a new turn had been witnessed in the Kashmiri movement.

He said that after July 8, hundreds of Kashmiris had been martyred, around 10 thousand had been injured, more than 8 thousand were arrested and around 25 thousand people were missing. He said that India did not allow UNHCR team to visit Occupied Kashmir which must be condemned worldwide.

He said that new economic blocks were emerging and now Pakistan should increase relations with Russia along with China. He said that right wing politics was being promoted in the West which could prove dangerous in future.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that it was very strange in our country that our media persons were fanning baseless propaganda against Pakistan Army and ISI. He said that our media openly condemned Taliban but did not talk about non-state actors in Occupied Kashmir. He said that Pakistan must involve China to resolve Kashmir issue.
