Lahore : Thousands of doctors having their specialization completed from Post Graduate Medical Institute are serving in medical education institutions and hospital both in Pakistan and abroad. Ameer Ud Din Medical College attached with PGMI and LGH has also set a new record of excellence by securing first position in the province in First Professional results just after a few years of its establishment. Lahore General Hospital has also rendered great services by providing medical cover to as many as 1.5 million patients during last fiscal year.
This was briefed by Principal PGMI and LGH Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab to the 44th Common’s trainee officers of Civil Services Academy who were on a study visit to Lahore General Hospital the last day. Medical Superintendent LGH Dr. Ghulam Sabir and other administrative doctors were also present on the occasion.
Prof. Ghias Un Nabi Tayyab threw light on the ongoing development projects for the hospital and said that philanthropists are also cooperating with the hospital towards the sacred mission of serving ailing humanity as without their assistance, Government cannot deliver effectively. He said that PGMI is playing the role of Pakistan’s ambassador as a large number of doctors belonging to neighboring countries get admissions for medical specialization at PGMI. Prof. Tayyab hopped that trainee officers would put in their best abilities to serve the country after completion of their training at the academy.
The officers also visited various wards and part of hospital. They rounded up at Punjab Institute of Neuro-Sciences, Dialysis Centre, department of Gastro Entrology, Neuro-Radiology and Emergency ward and appreciated the standard of medical facilities.
