Lahore : The DCO Sahiwal, Shaukat Ali Khan Khichi surrendered the services of an official working in the Land record Management Information System (LRMIS) Centre and ordered to initiate disciplinary proceedings against him. The action was taken on the basis of negative citizen feedback received through Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program (CFMP) devised and run by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). A spokesperson of the PITB revealed it through a press release issued on Tuesday.
According to the details, a negative feedback report generated by CFMP for the LRMIS centre Sahiwal in September, a total of 12 cases of negative feedback were recorded out of which 2 reported corruptions, 6 bad attitudes of staff and 4 cited service delay. In addition, 75 citizen cell phone numbers were repeated in the said month. In order to investigate the causes for the negative feedback received and to ascertain the level of service delivery at the facility, the District Coordination Officer (DCO) paid a surprise visit to the said LRMIS Service Centre and found the official Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman dealing with citizens outside the premises. A Chairman of Union Council present on the occasion complained to the DCO of a Rs. 5000 bribe that Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman had demanded for the attestation of a land mutation.
“Upon further investigation, numerous acts of inefficiency, misconduct and corruption were traced back to Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman. The DCO immediately took action by surrendering his services and initiating disciplinary proceedings against him.” He added.
