Jahangir Badar is laid to rest in local graveyard

Lahore : PPP central leader Jahangir Badar is laid to rest in a local graveyard. His funeral prayer was offered at Punjab University Law College Ground from where he started his political journey.

A large number of people attended the funeral from all walks of life including Governor Punjab Rafiq Rajwana, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah,former PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf,Yosaf Raza Gilani,Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq,Molana Tariq Jameel.

Jayalays did not forget to shout slogans of “Jeay Bhutto” at this occasion too.

He was elected to National Assembly of Pakistan in General Elections of 1988 from Lahore as Pakistan Peoples Party candidate, and was appointed Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources, Housing & works And Science & Technology by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He was elected to the Senate of Pakistan in 1994 and was assigned the portfolio of Federal Minister for Political Affairs and Religious Affairs and was re-elected to the Senate of Pakistan in March 2009 on a general seat as Pakistan Peoples Party candidate. He was the chairperson of Senate Committee on Parliamentary Affairs and member of senate committees of Foreign Affairs, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Law and Justice. He was the Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party since 1999.
