Lahore :Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Director General Major General Umar Farooq Burki visited forward wings along International Border adjoining Working Boundary in Lahore Sector.
On arrival at Ghawindi the Director General was received by Sector Commander Sutlej Rangers Brigadier Syed Asim Hussain Gardezi. He was given briefing on operational and training matters. Major General Umar Farooq Burki appreciated the state of preparedness and morale of Rangers. He also appreciated quick and alert response of troops in thwarting movement of smugglers and other elements from across the border. While talking to commanders and troops he expressed that “We have a sacred duty to safeguard Pakistan’s frontiers, Rangers have an illustrious history of bravery and sacrifice. You all must continue to work hard in the same way and remain vigilant. We will continue our efforts towards safeguarding the borders in addition to control cross border smuggling”.
