Lahore : Govt. has planned to digitalize the agri-sector as the I.T. is key to prosperity of each and every field of life. While chairing the meeting of District Task Force, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Capt. Rtd. Muhammad Mehmud said that agri-sector could deliver a landmark and prime GDP to the country. But some unseen hands and prevailing corruption has detriment it nourishment.

Secretary emphasized the need to work hard and dedication for the growth of this immense important section. He expressed that loaning out of 100 billion agri-package would lessen the hurdles and obstacles hindered in the prosperity of this sector.  He said that every minor peasants would be disbursed interest free loan  on every five acre out of this mammoth package.

He said that Govt. has waived GST on pesticides and insecticides in addition to allow subsidy on Potash-M Rs. 800 per bag and Potash-S 500 per bag. He also added that District Task force has been configured to combat adulteration and to check manufacturing of spurious fertilizers and pesticides to avert the peasant’s loss. He warned that shirk worker and dishonest officials/officers would be kicked out the Department and would be punished vehemently.

He stressed upon the officials to work with dedication, enthusiasm and devotion for the smooth grow of agri-sector owing to prosperous and progressive Pakistan. He directed to extend their entire cooperation to facilitate the farmers for their better growth.

Meeting was participated by DCO Sargodha Danish Afzal, EDO Agriculture and other agriculture officers.
