Ningxia Car Rally from China arrives in Lahore

Lahore : Ningxia Car Rally from China is on a friendly tour to Pakistan and Arab states to promote good relations and develop positive ties among the nations. The rally arrived in Lahore from Islamabad on 17^th October 2016 and intends to stay a couple of days in Lahore before moving on to Multan, Sukkur and then Karachi.

The car rally consisting of 20 cars was warmly received at Thokar Niaz Beg with much fanfare and then travelled along the canal where the people of Lahore delighted in seeing them. It is a unique event and was much enjoyed by the Chinese participants who were waving flags of China and Pakistan throughout. Chinese Dignitaries and provincial government notables welcomed the car rally at the resting point of their hotel. There was dancing to the tune of drums and flower petals, bouquets and garlands for the Chinese members. After a brief rest they journeyed to the Wagah Border to see the flag lowering ceremony which was enthusiastically enjoyed by all. Later the same night they were to have a sightseeing tour of Lahore and visit to food street.

It may be highlighted that the car rally entered Pakistan through Khunjerab pass from where it traveled to Gilgit and then reached Islamabad. Today it arrived at Lahore and after spending two days here will move on to Multan, Sukkur and Karachi. From Karachi the intention is to travel by the 23^rd of October 2016 to Muscat and then to Dubai. This journey is a homage to the Silk Road and a beautiful way to showcase the good relations Pakistan has with China. Hopefully this car rally from China will be successful in its attempt to develop strong and friendly ties.
