Lahore : Historic city of Lahore will be the hub of 6-day entertaining activities as the First International PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) Competition-2016, hosted by Pakistan Army, kicks off amid a graceful opening ceremony at the Ayub Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Addressing a crowded press conference here on Monday, ISPR Director Brig Anwaar Ahmed announced that all the participating teams have reached who will contest in the categories of Push-Ups, Sit-Ups Chin-Ups and Combat Efficiency Test at three different venues. Brig Anwaar added that to generate public interest Pakistan Army will also organize a Mini Marathon on the last day of the Event on October 23. Participants from all age groups and genders will participate in the Marathon. Soldiers participating from Armies teams of United Kingdom, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arab, Bahrain, Nepal and Sri Lanka is manifestation of Pak Army’s standard of professionalism and fitness.
On the occasion Director PACES Brig (retd) Yousaf informed media that PACES, a new regime of physical training, was introduced in Pakistan Army in 2010 and during these six years it contributed marvelously in enhancing physical fitness, combat efficiency, competitive spirit and sports culture among all ranks of Pakistan Army. He emphasized that physical fitness and strength of body muscles are the hallmark in the profession of Arms as all their training activities revolve around combat environment in line with the fundamental traits of physical strength and endurance.
