Dr. Rizwan Naseer assumed charge as the DG Punjab Emergency Services

dr-rizwan-naseer-being-welcomed-at-rescue-1122-officeLahore : Dr. Rizwan Naseer (Sitara-I-Imtiaz) assumed charge as the Director General, Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) after his selection through open competitive process and approval by the Chief Minister and the Cabinet of the Punjab.

He was welcomed warmly when he arrived here at Rescue 1122 Headquarters & Emergency Services Academy where officers, officials and other staff presented bouquets and flowers. It may pertinent to mention here that he is the Founder of Pakistan’s first Modern Emergency Humanitarian Service (Rescue 1122), which he established in 2004 as a pilot project from Lahore.

On its successful start, he said that the priority was to uplift the standards of Rescue 1122 as per international standards and establish safer communities through proactive approach towards evidence based prevention of emergencies. Besides further strengthening of Service in larger cities and expansion to remaining Tehsils of Punjab.

He proposed a comprehensive plan of its expansion all over the Punjab, thereof, the Government of the Punjab expanded emergency services of Rescue 1122 in all Districts & Tehsils of the Punjab.

In continuation with his mission of Safer Pakistan, he further proposed and provided technical assistance to other provinces including KPK, Baluchistan, GB, AJK and Sindh to replicate Emergency Model of Rescue 1122, where emergency services are available on single call now.

Later, he also established a state-of-the-art training institute – the Emergency Services Academy – which has become a National Centre of Excellence through imparting training of disaster management among over 17000 cadets & emergency professionals of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Baluchistan, Sindh, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
