Lahore : Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan Maj. Gen (R) Loku Ketagodage Jayanath called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here today. Matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation in health, education and other social sectors was discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that there are strong friendly relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, however, there is a need to promote cooperation between the two countries in trade, health and education sectors. Shehbaz Sharif said that Sri Lanka has achieved commendable successes in health and education sectors and both the countries should benefit from each other’s experiences and expertise in these sectors.
He said that Punjab government is implementing revolutionary reforms for the uplift of education and health sector. Sri Lankan High Commissioner said that cooperation with Punjab government in education and health sectors will be promoted. He also invited Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to visit Sri Lanka.
Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq, Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
