SSP Malir Rao Anwaar must not be maltreated : Dr Yasmin

Lahore : Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman’s advisor Dr Yasmin Rashid has said there should be no difference between black and khaki uniform and added that nobody spoke when rangers caught MQM’s Farooq Sattar but all crying hoarse, when a policeman arrested MQM’s Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan. This disparity is not in the interest of the country and the nation, she said.

Talking to party workers’ delegations on Saturday, Dr Yasmin Rashid said police was supposed to take permission from the Assembly Speaker, when it wanted to arrest a member of the House from the Assembly House or Assembly hostel. She said the PML-N had devastated the institution of police in Punjab and now the Prime Minister started to destroy Sindh police by directly intervening into its affairs.

Lauding SSP Malir Rao Anwaar, Dr Yasmin Rashid said the SSP was speaking truth that police and other law enforcement agencies needed to be pampered, if crime, criminals and terrorism needed to be eliminated. She said SSP Rao Anwaar must not be maltreated because it would encourage criminals to go ahead with their nefarious designs.
